TOWN ILLLL. The power of a newspaper in scamping out evil is vividly shown iir “Freedom of the Press,” .an exciting drama from the pen of Peter B. Kyne to head a fine programme at the Town Hall to-night. Lewis Stone appears in the starring role of the power behind the underworld. II is the greatest characterisation this veteran actor has ever given and one of the 'finest portrayals of the year. An all-star company of supporting players appears in “Freedom of the Press.” Marceline Day has the feminine lead. Malcolm McGregor is the son of the newspaper publisher and Henry B. Walthall is the father. Included in the east are Robert Emmett •O’Connor, Thomas Ricketts, Hayden Stevenson, Robert Ellis, (Boris Baronoff, Morgan Thorpe and Wilson Benge. With "Rubbernecks” (Comedy), Cartoon and latest News reel. Usual prices. A corking good picture with one of the best comedians on the stage or screen —what more can you ask of “George Washington Cohen,” in which Tiffany-Stahl is presenting George Jesse I at the Town Hall on Monday. This is George Jessel’s first screen appearance in some time. Broadway claims him for all but the summer months. “George Washington Cohen,” describes the result of a 'boy’s trying to live up to his name. The -Cohen pride and joy was christened George Washington because the relations at the christening fought so over every family name which was suggested. So, from his earliest appearance, the boy is involved in difficulties growing out of his cognomen, which form the plot of this comedy, alternately hilarious and tender.
