With the object of assisting in raising funds for the local unemployed Hit 1 local Druids recently challenged the -Foxton' Surf Club tea in to meet them in three games for a dinner, the gate takings to be devoted to the unemployment, funds. The contest at)raided a good deal of interest ami as a result the funds benefit to a considerable extent. The Druids emerged'’the victors and as a result were entertained to a dinner last evening at Wlails hv the Surf Club. Mr. M. F. Perreau (.Mayor) presided, and an enjoyable time was spent. Touts were honoured as follows: The Druids, pioposed by Mr. E. Also]) and responded to by Mr. T. Fuller; the Surf dub, proposed by Mr. T. Fuller, response Mr. G. Shaw. Mr Les. Matter presided at the piano and Mr. \\". Brown rendered several vocal items.
