TO WIN HALL. Lewis Stone, Marceliine Hay, Malcolm MacGregor and Henry Walthall are the star names at the head of a line cast, in “’Freedom of the Press,” an "exciting melodrama of the light waged by a. large daily paper on an underworld gang. Lewis Stone is the star and that- means, immediately, that the rest of the east must be good, too.. Stone gives a powerful picture of an underworld leader who is a respected member of society, giving parties for bis ward and donating large sums to charity, while at the same time being the 'boss of the crooked political underworld intent on a land grab of a big city park. Marccline Day is appealing as his ward and the other half of the Jove interest is supplied with feeling by .Malcolm McGregor, son of the newspaper editor who has set hintis played 'bv Henry ©. Walthall, a -elf against the boss. The editor role reminiscent of Hint played in real life by I Don MeMett, the slain editor of Canton, Ohio. The final reels of the picture,'which show the desperate 'attempt's of the underworld gang, 1° Iprovent the paper, with a damning indictment of their leader, being printed, are sensational and limiting. Monday’s feature will be a star comedy, “George Washington Cohen,” whilst next Wednesday will see the screening of the big sea epic, “Scarlet Seas,” with Richard Barthelmiss in the leading role.
