NO-(CON FIDENCE AMENDMENT.
The Address-in-Reply Debate was fairly launched in the House of Representatives on Thursday. The no-confidence amendment proposed by the Leader of the Opposition (the Right Hon. .1. G. Coates) has given a zest to . the debate which probably it would not otherwise have possessed, and the speeches since were mainly on party lines. Two Ministers took part in the discussion and both made a spirited defence of the Government’s actions. Altogether eleven speakers participated in the deha te.
