WOOD CHOPPING ACCIDENT.

LOCAL RESIDENT LOSES TOE. A painful accident bofel Mr K. T. Betty when cutting some -firewood at his residence just prior Lo midday on Sunday. He wa-s splitting up some logs which lie had sawn into small lengths when the axe glanced off a. block and cut through the boot of his left foot, severely gashing tire big- toe. Medical assistance was quickly summoned and on arrival Dr. Wyllie found it necessary to 'amputate the toe at. the joint. Mr. Betty is reported to lie making a good recovery from his accident.
