SCRIPTURE IN COURT.
"MUSES i\O T iiis AHTHOJKITY.” Scripture was quoted by counsel in the Supreme Court at Hamilton this week in support of his contention that there must be corroboration of a child’s evidence in a criminal ease, in his address to
the jury, counsel quoted from the 15th verse of the 19th chapter of Deuteronomy, which reads: “One witness shall not vise up against nmn for any iniquity. At the month of two witnesses or at the month of three witnesses shall it he established.” Counsel said that relying on so sure ail authority as Moses, the jury could relieve their consciences by returning a verdict of not guilty. Air. Justice Hardman remarked that Moses was not an authority in that Court. (Laughter). The jury found the prisoner guilty.
