ATTEMPT TO LEVY BLACKMAIL
YOUNG WOMAN SENTENCED. Christchurch, June 17. Mr. Mosley, S.M., to-day sentenced Mirin.ini.Ada Goodrich, aged 29, a domestic servant, lo a year’s reformative treatment on a charge of attempting to extract £250 from a former employer, a. man aged 87, by means of a threatening letter. The police said that the woman alleged that she had been indeeeutlv assaulted, and demanded money. The man immediately informed the police and Ihe woman was trapped. The Magistrate said that the woman was an absolute danger to the community.
