The Hon. Ed. Newman paid a brief visit 1o Foxton yesterday. Miss Ashby has returned to Foxton from Napier where she recently underwent an operation. • Mr. S. Diulson underwent an operation in the Palmerston North Hospital on Tuesday. A memorial service to the revered memory of the late Mr, Francis Robinson will he held in All Saints’ Anglican Church on Sunday morning- next at 11 o’clock. Tt is anticipated that there will he a big gathering, pa cl iculaiiv of men, for the late Mr. Robinson was in epery sense one who lived respected and died regretted. Congratulations to Mr. J. Iv. Hornblow on his being re-elected unopposed as chairman of the Palmerston North Hospital Board were tendered by bis fellow-members at the Wanganui Education Board’s meeting yesterday. “It is an honour 1o the Board as well as to Mr. Horn-blow,” said the chairman, Mr. \Y. A. 'Collins, and members expressed their approval of the sentiments expressed.—Chronicle.
