LONDON, June 3. The Berlin correspondent of the Daily News savs :
“The most important step yet to assure the permanence of the German Republic was taken by President Hindeuburg when, -almost unnotice.sd by tire public, he decreed a new- formulation of the ••Articles of War,'' through which the entire army took the oath of loyalty to the Republic. “This is the first time since the revolution of 1918 that the German army Iras officially recognised the Republic, "Inch previous articles of war did not mention, a soldier merely being required to swear allegiance to the Fatherland. ■■Monarchists will thus no longer be able Lo claim that they can advocate the abolition of tlie Republic and still remain loyal lo Hie Fatherland.”
