Airs. Aloliokey, of Thymic Street, has returned home from Hospital.

Airs. J. Martin, of Alain Street, is at present spending a holiday in Wanganui.

Aliy J. Perreau, who lias been away in Singapore for some time, has returned to F'oxton.

Miss A. riaydock, of the Harbour Board office, is at present on holiday.

■Mr. and Airs. C. 11. Collins, of Hastings, were visitors to Fox-ton Ids week.

Mr. E. Jackson, of tin' local branch of the Bank of New Zealand, lias resumed duty after being absent on annual leave. Constable and Airs. Lincoln arrived in Foxton last evening. Constable and Airs. J. V. Bell 'and family expect to leave for Dannevirke before the end of the week.

Ah*, (i. A. Abode, who tins been chairman of I lie Horowhenua Power Board, since its inception, was unanimously re-elected to that position at the annual meeting of the Board on Tuesday. The death has occurred at Wnilioii, Auckland, of Ate. Michael O'Donagiiue, father of Constable J. p. O'Donaghue, Kaponga, and late uf Fox ton. The late Mr. O’Doimghiie left Ireland when 24 years of age and came out to Lyttelton in 187.9. After being engaged in team work for some years, he moved North in 1880 and took up land in Waihou, which was then in an unimproved state. He worked hard and, in due course his farm became one of the best in the district. He took an active part in dairying and was a leading figure in the days when the establishment of factories occupied tlie minds of farmers generally. He leaves a widow, one daughter and seven sons.
