WEDDING

AlacLEOD —LINIvLATER. St. Andrew’s Church, Palmerston X., was the scene of a very pretty wedding of great interest to residents i,f this district on Wednesday evening, when Myra Eleanor, eldest daughter of Air and Airs J. Linklater, of Alilson’s Line, was united to Mui'do Campbell, eldest, son of Mr and Airs M. MacLeod, Taonui. The bride, who entered the church oil her father's arm, looked charming in a lovely frock of white moire ,-iil: with close-fitting bodice and tuii-llared skirt ankle length at back, with white veil and orangeblossom, the head-piece being held in position by a beautifully mounted carn-gorm stone, the gift of the bridegroom. The bridesmaids were Miss Meryl Hammond, of Hunterville, chief bridesmaid, Aliss Rita Linklater, sister of the bride, and Miss May AlacJ.eod, sistei of the bridegroom. Alt wore dainty frocks of white georgette and radium lace with georgette hats, and carried baskets of bronze chrysanthemums.

The bridegroom wore the tartan of rtie MacLeod lOlan, and the groomsmen also were in Highland dress. The best man was Air Peter Ballanlyne, of Wellington, while Air Eric Williamson 'and Ain Robert Linklater acted as groomsmen. The church was very tastefully lid. oi-.-ued by friends ol' the bride. Mrs J. Linklater, mother of the bride, wore powder blue georgette frock with white fur and white Pelt hat. Airs AL. ALacLeod, mother of the bridegroom, wore a rose beige i-liantilly laee ensemble trimmed with pale green shot taffeta, with blown hat to tone. Aliss Catherine MacLeod, sister of the bridegroom, More blue embossed georgette. Aliss Mavis Linklater, sister of the bride, turquoise blue georgette. The little sisters of the bride and bridegroom were dressed in dainty frocks of pale pink and blue respectively. .ii'ier the ceremony, over 250 gue-ts partook of the wedding break’last, which was held in the Empire Hall, the bride cutting the mngiiilieeul cake with the bridegroom's dirk. Mr McDonald was the piper for the occasion and enlivened tile proceedings with his excellent playing of the pipes. When .Mr and Airs AlaeLeml jnr. iel'i for the North, Ihe bride was wearing ii Burgundy moroeaiii frock with lawn lint to tone and fur coat. Al Ihe conclusion of the wedding festivities a dance was held to celebrate the 2.lst birthday of Aliss Rita Linklater, second daughter of Air and Mrs Linklater. Mr Ered. Voi-tt j imposed the health of Miss Linklater, who most ably responded. A very enjoyable time was spent in dancing and the evening concluded with the singing of Auld Lang Syne .-Mai Gnd Gave the King.
