Tie parks in either the second or third row and is the only Scot in the party.

B. H. BLACK (St. Andrew’s, Orahamstown, Oxford University, Blaekheath and England).—A South African Rhodes Scholar, of English parenis, and in his last year nt Oxford. and Oxford University). —In spite of n physical handicap this player Ims proved himsoli one of the best forwards in the country. lie packs in the middle of the back row and i excels in line-pul work, lie is fast in the open, and is always ready for a chance lo srarl iiis hacks going. He is aged 20, height lift. Lin., ami weight 13st 11)11). He is an undertrad nate at the University. M. J. DUNNE (Ca stick nock College, Lansdowne and Ireland). —A fine all round forward who is full of dash and never spares himself. He is very good in the line-out and has played eight times for Ireland. G. R. BEAMISH (Coleraine Aeademaeal Institution, Leicester Royal Air force and Ireland). —Is probably the best forward in the British Isles at the moment. He poles m the second row and makes use of every ounce of his great strength and weight. He is devastating at the end of a rush and tackles tremendously hard, first ‘ capped" five years ago, he was out of ihe game for two seasons through a broken leg, but has fourteen "caps” in all. He is aged 24, with height 6ft. lin. and weight 15st. 31b. He is a flightlieutenant in the Royal Air Force.

J. 1,. FARRELL (Castleknock College, Beclive Rangers and Ireland). —A grand hustling forward, who has played in every match for the past five seasons and so has twenty-one "caps." He can pack anywhere but is best in the centre row. He is a fine leader, who never gives in and sets his men an inspiring example, and he is aged 27. J. M’D. HODGSON (Rugby School, Northern, Northumberland, and English Trials). —Failed to win his “colours" at school hut lias developed enormously since. He is a lively forward, well-built, and shines in the open, where lie is a clever dribbler. He was a reserve for England.

H. O’H. O’NEILL (Queen’s University, Belfast and Ireland). —A young forward with tthree “caps" to his credit. He plays a dashing game in the open, and tackles hard. IVOR JONES (Llanelly and Wales). —Probably the best winging forward Wales has produced since the war. Tall and always (it, he was originally I’ultbaeik but was “capped” as a winger six years ago and possesses sixteen ‘caps.” Brilliant in like loose and very dangerous near his opponent’s line, he is a prolific scorer and is also an adept al starting off his backs. S. A. MARTIN DALE (Kendal -Cumberland and England) —A front row forward of the true North County type, solid, and a glutton for work. He is most effective in the tight scrums hut also shows up well m short rushes.
