PERSONAL.
Mr. and Mrs. 'Li. Bullard, of Christchurch, were visitors to Foxton over the holidays. Sir Joseph Ward celebrated his seventy-fourth birthday on Saturday last. A very pleasant social afternoon was spent yesterday at the residence off Mrs. G. M. Hewett, Lady’s Mile, when an afternoon was given for Mrs. L. Bullard, of Ruatoria, who is at present on holiday in Foxton. An interesting competition 'was won by Mrs. Bullard. A tasty afternoon tea was provided by the hostess and an enjoyable time | spent by all present. Mr. and Mrs. Bullard intend leaving again for their home on Sunday next.
