WEDDING

DMA 1; LOVE—BANKS. A very pretty but quiet'wedding which links up two well-known families in the Maimwalu took place at the Hastings Presbyterian Church on Easter Monday, when Mona Eillcen, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jus. Banks, of Central School Hastings, and recently of Eoxton, was united to Harold James, fifth son of Air. and the late Mrs. John A. JJcarlove, of Te Poi, South Auckland, and formally of Te A roll a and for many years resident in .Eoxton and Moutoa. The Lev. D. J. Shaw was the officiating minister. The bride, who entered Ihe Church on the arm of her father, was gowned in a graceful tiered frock of pale lintcd moire velvel and attended by her two sisters as bridesmaids who were gowned in floral moire taffeta with golden sequin caps. The groomsmen were Messrs ,1. Cook (Waipukit ran) and V. Buynov (Te Avolia). After the service, which was fully choral, the mother of the bride, who was attired in a black panne velvet gown with hat to lone received and entertained the guests at her home in Southampton. Street. The decorations at both the Church and home were earned out in the bronze and gold shades of the autumn, the wedding bell, which was much admired, being the handiwork of the ninny girl friends of the bride. 'l'lie bride received many delightful presents from her wide circle of friends and relations. She presented the bridegroom with a suit ease while the bridegroom’s present to the bride consisted of a Cox fur. The bridesmaids received gold necklets.

Mr. Lance Craig presided at the organ and provided several musical items which suited the tone of the gathering. Among those preesnl were Air. and Mrs. J. W. Gibson (Levin), Air. S. Banks (Christchurch), Air. T. H. Gibson (Plimmerton), Afesdames Dearlove (Hastings), Honore (Palmerston N.), Air. and Mrs. Perkins (Hatiima). Air. and Mrs. Raynor, Mrs. L. Raynor and Alaster K. Raynor (Te Arolm).

The happy couple left for the National Park on their honeymoon, the bride travelling in a smart frock of cranberry crepe do chine and face cloth coat with full icollar and cuffs of fur and hat to tone.
