FOXTON’S FIRE RISKS MINIMISED.
REDUCED PREMIUMS URGED
Lam evening local members of the Eoxton Eire Board conferred with Inspector Hugo in x’espect to what was stated to be the very high premiums charged by insurance companies on Buxton risks. It was pointed out that the premiums were the same to-day as they were when Eoxton was without any lire lighting appliances or water supply. inspector Hugo facetiously remarked that possibly Eoxton was paying lor its past sins. He agreed, however, that with its present lirst-class high pressure water supply, efficient brigade and equipment, Eoxton was justified in seeking a. reduction. So far as he was i oueerned he would be pleased to testify to such efficiency. It was stated that the Borough Council at its next meeting would take steps to bring the matter under the notice of ihe Underwriters’ Association.
