FOXTON SURF AND LIFE SAVING CLUB.

On -Saturday evening the Eoxton Surf and {Life |Saving /Club held a. successful dance in the Masonic Hall which was well attended. Dancing was indulged in until midnight and an enjoyable time spent bv all present. During the evening a competition for a box of chocolates was decided which was won by Mr. J. Huff. On iSunday the Club held practices on the local beach. Land drill was practised and afterwards both A and B teams had a run out. The teams were as follows: — A: —F. Burns (Captain), E. Alsop, E. Morgan, L. King, J. Robinson, G. Shaw, and R. Reay, with Hussey acting as patient. B:—W. Adams, M. Baird, W. Melton, L. Carter, Barrat, with J. Easton as patient on land and Vertongen as patient in the sea. The costumes for patrol members arrived on Saturday and were worn for the first time on Sunday. 'The above ‘Club will give a demonstration at the local seaside on Sunday next. There will be land ' drill on the river foreshore at 11.30 a.m. and the surf demonstration at 2.30 p.m,
