TRIBUTE TO HON. E. A. RANSOM. Hamilton, March 30. Higher opportunities for Hon. E. A. Ransom, Minister of Public Works, are predicted by Mr. Lee Martin, Labour member for Raglan. . In paying tribute to Mr. Ransom, at a banquet given him at Raglan, Mr. Martin said that Mr. Ransom's physique denoted strength, and his face character. His various addresses throughout the electorate showed that he possessed vision in connection with the future of the Dominion, and the courage to put into operation what: he believed would be in the 'best interests of the community. Mr. Martin added that, while he was not of the same politics as Mr. Ransom, he would he glad to give him a very hearty welcome to the Labour Party and would be very happy at being able to work side by side with him, because the speaker considered that the Minister was doing his present job in a very thorough manner. Mr. Martin said . that he was sure Mr. Ransom was going to leave, his mark upon the Dominion not only as Minister of Public Works, .but be thought that the time was coming soon when higher opportunities would be given him. When that time arrived he was sure Air. Ransom would not let the Dominion down.
