FOOTBALL.
■ A meeting' of Committee of the Foxton Football Club was held last evening, in Walls’ rooms. Present: Messrs F. Robinson (president), J. Newton, W. Broad, A. Walls, B. Walls, C. Procter, L. McCarthy, and the secretary (Mr. Iv. Hirini).
Koputaroa Club wrote asking Foxton Club to arrange a game with Foxtoji juniors on 29th inst. The secretary reported that he 'had suggested to Koputaroa Club that a game be played on sth inst., at 2 p.m. So far no reply had been received.
It was resolved that delegates be Instructed to vote at next meeting of the Horowhenua Union for an age limit of 18 years for Fourths, and an unlimited age for Thirds.
It was decided to forward a request to the Borough Council to erect an additional light in Easton Park, it being considered that an additional light would be not only an advantage to footballers, but would afford other sports bodies facilities for holding night sports OJI the Park.
Accounts amounting to £l6 10/were passed for payment.
All Thirds and intending Thirds are requested to meet at Easton Park at 7 o’clock this evening.
Bulls seniors will visit Foxton on Saturday, and will meet local seniors in a friendly game.
The local Juniors were afforded a “pipe-opener” on Saturday when Rangiotu Juniors, the Huias, visited Foxton to try conclusions with the home team in a friendly match on Easton Park. The game resulted in a win for Foxton by eighteen points to three. Mi'. W. 'Neville was in charge of the whistle.
On Saturday next 'Bulls Seniors are sending a team down to meet the local fifteen when a good game is expected. ,
Shannon Seniors went into action for the first time this season on Saturday when they met and were defeated hy Kia Toa by 16 points to 12. The Sham** seniors have had to look for a number of new players to replace members who have left the district and on Saturday Hindu, who rendered valuable service in the ranks of the local seniors last .year, donned Shannon’s colours and played a good game as hooker. The team was skipped by Sathorlev with Roderick vice-cap-tain. Wheeler and Woods played at five-eigliths and S. Gunning was tried out as half.
