IT. Jack) reported that, during the past month, 34 applications from new consumers had been received, comprising six ranges, seven waterheaters, six milking and separator motors, two small industrial mourns, and two 15 h.p. temporary motors. Twenty-live applications had been received for extensions to existing installations, comprising Lour ranges, four water-heaters, and three small pumping- motors. During the month 34 new consumers and 33 extensions to existing installations were connected, comprising six ranges, 12 water-heat-ers, one mil lung motor,, including three temporary motors, totalling 50 h.p., making a total increase of 107.044 k.w. for the month, The chairman (Mr. G. A. Monk) said it was very satisfactory that, although the Bo_ard had expected a falling-oft', the applications were keeping up to the mark extremely well. There would no doubt come <i saturation period, but the applications had averaged 24 or 25 a month. This showed that, in a district which the Board had thought fairly well served, there was still room for a good deal of new consumption. An advance of 107 k.w. for the month, although some of it was only temporary, was a wonderful increase. Mr. T l . G. Vincent remarked That electricity was a commodity that created its own demand.
