TOWN HALL. Many have read Robert Hichen’s popular mystery novel “After the Verdict,” which is one of the features i# Saturday’s double feature programme at the Town Hall. The story of the film adheres closely to that of the hook, and Henrik GaJeen, the director of the production, lias created fine atmosphere in the Indian and rural English scenes. The story deals with the murder of a woman, Betty Carter—-endea-vours to ensnare a nufn with whom she lias had an affaire, and which he now regrets. Her mysterious murder causes suspicion to he east ini her past lover. The climax is a triumph of emotional drama. T'he other feature is a Western drama. Tt is a William Fox production called “Taking a /Chance” and stars Rex Bell, the attractive young ace rider and roper who was chosen from the extra i*anks to succeed Tom Afix when the latter recently wound up more than a decade of service on the Fox lot. Bell has been a cowboy, a rodeo performer and movie “double,” which experience, coupled with his line, personality, should carry him In the highest rungs of success in his chosen field. Prices as usual. Al. Wilson, the aeroplane stunting star, will appear on Monday in “The Skv Skidder.”
