Since the last meeting of the Rangitikei Racing Club the scheme of improvements on the course at 1 lulls has been steadily gone on with.
The new seven furlong start now gives a straight of 11 chains before hitting the turn, has been fenced on the inside and outside of the course and now allows for 21 horses to start in a race. The addition of a sleeping porch to accomodate 8 beds has been added to the accommodation house. The course is in splendid’order and has a great sole of grass on it. The garden has been added to and will be. at its best next Wednesday. Hot water will be provided free for those who take their luncheon on to the course.
The publican’s booth is in the capable hands of Mi’. G. Luoni, and the luncheon booth is being catered for by Messrs Dustins Ltd., of Palmerston North, which speaks for itself.
The trophies for the Rangitikei cup, presented by Mi’. T. A. Duncan and the Club’s canteen of cutlery (comprising (13 pieces) for the President’s Hack IGup, have been much admired.
Acceptances are coming in well and every thing promises for a very successful meeting.
