ADULTERATED WHISKY.

Dunedin, February 21. In the Police Court, William Dawson Cowie, licensee of the Gridiron Hotel, and Frederick Griffiths Paape, licensee of the Oban Hotel, were fined £25 each for adulteration of whisky. in the former’s case it was stated that the licensee was away from town and the barman, to keep the bottles from getting low, poured Ike contents of several into one bottle. In Paape’s case evidence was given that the employee had since been dismissed. He was suspected of adulteration.
