FOXTON LUNCH CLUB
COMMITTEE MEETING
A, committee meeting of the Foxton Lunch Club was held in the Borough IC'ouncil Chambers on Tuesday afternoon, presided over by Mr. F. A. Mason (president). Also present were Messrs W. Trueman, H. E. Garbett, G. F. Smith, R. 0- Ilornblow and the secretary (Mr. I. Corn).
The syllabus for the coming half year was drawn up and dates and speakers allocated as follows: — March 6th, Mr. M. 11. Oram (Palmerston North); April 3rd, Mr. Barker (Wellington); May Bth, Mr. D. R. Morrison (Palmerston N.); June sth, Mr. G. A. Monk (Waikanae). It was decided that July 3rd be Members’ Day. There will be no special speaker on that date but the time will be devoted to anecdotes and reminiscences by members. A time limit of five minutes will be set each speaker and it is hoped hv this method to hear five members.
Mr. Barker, who is set down to speak on April 3rd should prove a very interesting' speaker to members as he will take for his subject
“The Talkies,” with which he is connected, and trace their growth and outline their possibilities.
The financial statement submitted by the secretary disclosed a credit balance of £3 19/11. Members outstanding subscriptions amount to £1 1/-. It was decided that Messrs Corn and Ilornblow make a canvass of the town for the purpose of looking up members and intending members.
