No. 0 Line: 15 yards of metal, two days grading, a cost of £l2 7/0. —Approved. {Duncan Street: 10 yards of metal and grading, £8 5/-. —Approved. Liddell Street: 5 yards of metal, 2 hours grading, £4 2/0. —Approved. Norbiton Road: 10 yards of metal, 10 gallons bitumen, half yard
chips, £9 8/9. —Approved. Street: 5 yards metal, one days’ grading, £4 2/0. —Approved. Harbour Street: 5 yards of metal, £4 2/0. —Approved. Wharf Streetj 15 yards metal, £l2 7/0. —Approved. Putter Street: 20 yards metal, two days 'grading, £lO 10/-. —Approved. Hall Street: 10 yards metal, 150 gallons bitumen, 3 yards chips, £22 2/0. —Approved. Easton Street and Ilulke Street: Two hours grading. —Approved. Baker Street: 0 yards metal and four hours grading, £4 19/-. —Approved. Howan Street: 0 yards metal and four days grading, £4 19/-. —Approved. Hillary Street : 5 yards metal and two hours grading, £4 2/0. —Approved. Gladstone 'Street: 3 yards metal and two hours grading, £2 9/0. — Approved. Cook Street: 15 yards metal, one day’s grading, £l2 7/0. Footpath: Tar 1125 gallons, chips 20 yards, £73 15/-. £73 15/- deleted from estimate.
Union Street: Footpath : Tar 1950 gallons, chips 40 yards, £132 15/-. —Deleted. Park 'Street and Victoria Street: Bitumen 180 gallons, chips 3 yards, £ls 2/0. —Approved. Avenue Road: .Footpath from Park Street to Bowling Green corner: Bitumen 900 gallons, chips 15 yards, £BO 12/0. Park Street to Johnston Street footpath: Bitumen 810 gallons, 13- yards chips, £72 2/0. Estimate reduced by £ll7 15/-. Coley Street : 10 yards metal and two days grading, £8 5/-. —Approved. Malin Street: Bitumen 4950 gallons, chips 82 yards, £443. —Estimate reduced by £343. MAIN HIGHWAYS were appro,ved as follows: — Lady’s Mile: Bitumen 135 gals., chips 2 yds; £ll 17/0. Union Street: Bitumen 135 gals., chips 2 yds.; £ll 17/0.

The above totals £lB3 12/6, but as they are main highways, the borough’s share will amount to only £6l 4/2. The total cost of carrying out ali the above proposed works would lie as follows: —Materials £1,072 2/8, wages £SOO, plant £6O, water or troughs £lO, a grand total of £1,642, -but taking the fications and deletions shown above into consideration the estimates were reduced to £974 17/8.
