ALLEGED CURE OF TUBERCULOSIS.
Wellington, January 31. No official recognition has yet been g'iven the claim of Rev. E. Ward, of the Church of the Ascension, Point Chevalier, Auckland, that he has produced a cure for tuberculosis. No definite results, it is stated, have come from a discussion between Mr. Ward and the medical superintendent of the Pukeova sanatorium (Dr. G. McLean) concerning the efficacy of the cure. It is understood that the Director-General of Health (Dr. T. 11. A. Valiiitine) has forwarded to the Minister a recommendation not to adopt a suggestion that Mr. Ward he allowed to remain at the Sanatorium for a period sufficient to test out his treatment, and that his salary be paid by the Health Department during that time.
