LIFE-SAVING CLUB FOR SEASIDE.
Mr. R. Reay, who is endeavouring to form a life-saving and patrol Club for the local seaside, informs us that ten young men have expressed their willingness to join the proposed club. He also interviewed Mr. Neil, of the Y.M.C.A., Palmerston North, who undertook to arrange for (lie training of prospective members and to secure a reel from Wellington. Mr. Reay said that a suitable shed would be necessary to house the reel, equipment, etc., and application would be made to the Har.hour Board to undertake this work.
A meeting to discuss lull details would be held at an early date.
The Mayor in this issue convenes a meeting of all interested, at 2.30 p.m. on February 2nd.
