At the time of my .marriage I was trapping rabbits at Himatangi and was earning about 130/- a weepc for about three ■months. I then took up. my residence 'in Poxtou and worked in the flaxiinills up to July, 1929. I..then received employment in the Railways and have been working there up till this time, at a fortnightly wage of £8 16/-, less 2/- for rent. I put my position down to the mills closing down and not being able to lind employment and to the children doming so quickly. It took most of my money for clothes for confinements and nurses’ expenses. Since joining- the Railway, I -have been keeping two homes going, one in Foxton and one in Palmerston, and the wages are just enough to live on, without paying off back debts.” The statement showed a deficiency of £lo'6 13/8, debts owing to unsecured creditors.
