WEDDING.
TROUP—SEWELL. At St. David’s Church, Terrace End, on Tuesday, Eleanor (“Lei”) Alicia Sewell, ALA., daughter of Mr. and the late Mrs. Sewell, of Wanganui, was married to Gordon Sloan, only son of Mg. and Mrs. G. A. Troup, Mayor and Mayoress of Wellington. Rev. John Allan, of St. Niimian’s Presbyterian Church, Rieearton, an old college chum of the bridegroom, officiated, while Mr. Henderson presided at the organ. The happy couple" have been earnest workers in the Students’ Christian Union, the bride having been travelling secretary to the organisation, while the bridegroom, with his bride, almost immediately proceeds to take up an appointment in Paris. The wedding was somewhat unconventional, the .bride, who entered the eliuirch on the arm of her father, was attired in a frock of cream georgette and lace with cream hat, ami carried a sheaf of lillies not being supported by the customary bridesmaids, while the bridegroom did not have the assistance of a groomsman.
Following the ceremony the party repaired to Messrs Collinson aud 'Cuiiiiinghame’s, wlfere .the weddjng breakfast was laid, the guests being restricted to relatives of the couples. Mrs. Troup, the bridegroom’s mother, wore a frock of black floral satin with black hat. Miss Sewell (sister of the bride), beige georgette frock embroidered to tone and brown hat. Mrs. J. K. llornblow, of Foxton, aunt of the bride, was gowned in black beaute satin with white georgette facing and black hat. Mrs. J, S. Butler, of Napier, aunt of the bridegroom, wore flowered ninou with hat of green, while another aunt, Mrs. P. 8. Moore, was gowned in green georgette with royal blue and black hat. Other relatives present were Miss Nan Troup, (blue and red patterned maroeain and fawn hat), .Miss Ina Troup (red spotted erepe-(ie-chine and red hat), Miss Jean Troup (green and black erepe-de-chine ami black hat), sisters of the groom; Miss Sewell, aunt of the bride, (navy jersey silk, with lemon facings, green hat); Miss Joyce Sewell, (brown crepe satin and brown hat); Mjss Ruth Sewell, (green crepe-de-chine aud beige hat), sisters of the bride; and Miss Butler (blue orepe-de-ehine), cousin of the bridegroom. A brief honeymoon will he spent by the happy couple in the Dominion prior to their proceeding for France via America.
