SITTINi I MEMBERS RETURN ED

Mont on was the only area in the Maimwnlu-Oroua Rivers Board distriel where -it was necessary to hold an election for the return of two repieseidatives to the Board. Three nominations were received, viz., the two sitting members (Messrs B. (4. (lower and IV. S. Carter) and Mr. John Chr.vstall. The sitting members were returned by overwhelming majorities thfirebv clearly indicating that Mr. (Tin-stall's opposition to the Board's policy finds little support in the area most affected by tile Hood waters. The re- - nit of the election should encourage tlie Board to renew its activities in connection with Hood control. The result of the voting was as follows: — B. (4. GOWER 56 W. S. CARTER 46 J.
