MAGNANIMOUS PARENTS.
The unusual spectacle of a man and woman pleading for mercy for the kidnapper of their infant son was witnessed in the Magistrate’s Court at Brooklyn, Hew York, recently. : Moved by a passionate love for children and the iiope that she eo»uld deceive her husband into thinkping that the baby ,was tiers, Airs. Irene Hoover took the child of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Barney from its • •perambulator. Mr. Hoover accepted the child as kis own until he read a description of the missing infant in the and his , wife confessed. Meanwhile Mrs. Barney had suffered a nervous collapse through the loss of her son, and had published a description of his special diet in the hope that the kidnapper would use it.
Mrs. Hoever returned the baby to the mother, whereupon she was , arrested on the charge of kidnap>ping. In Court Mi-.
