THE SAMOAN TROUBLE.
MAC TO BE SUPPRESSED. Apia, January 13. A proclamation under Saturday’s Order-in-Couneil, issued to-day, declares the Man to be a seditious organisation. . The warship Dunedin arrived yesterday, carrying a seaplane. A further police wireless post lms been established at Mnltifauua, 24 miles from Apia. Parties were landed to-day from 11.M.5. Dunedin, and proceeded westward to Saleimoa, a distance of 11 miles, where the majority of the Mau are believed to be located. The police posts at Apia, Leulumoega and Mulifauua have been reinforced by marines.
LEAGUE OF NATIONS EXPRESSES iCOXI’TDEXCE. - Geneva, January 14. M. P roe ope, the Finnish Foreign Minister, reporting to the League Council on the Mandate Commission’s investigation into Western Samoan affairs, paid tribute to the efforts of the Administration in the face of endless difficulties. It was entitled to the sympathies of the Council.
Confidence was expressed that the mandatory Power would end the present unstable situation and restore full authority.
GO VEEN MENT CONGR ATULATED. Geneva, January 14. The League Council noted with satisfaction that order had beeu restored in Samoa and congratulated the New Zealand Government.
