FIGURES FOR QUARTER ENDED

The returns of business transacted at the local Court during the quarter ended December 31st, 1929, are as follows: — Number of sittings during the quarter: Civil, 3; criminal, 11. Numiber of plaints entered, 42. Total amount sued for: £470 12/5. Numbed - of distress warrants issued, 3; judgment summonses is- • sued, 23; number of warrants of committal, 2; number of processes served by the bailiff, 101; number of summonses served by Registered Post, 2. Total amount of ' civil fees paid in stamps, £sl 14/-. Amount of criminal f&es, £8 2/-. Fines paid in stamp#' amounted, to £34 5/- and Licensing fees totalled £6 6/- for thev.qharter. there were 37 cEffiinal charges preferred against maJes, but there were none against females.
