On Saturday afternoon last a rink skipped by Radford, and representing; the ManaAvatu Club, visited Foxton, and'were successful in securing a Avin from Thomson’s rink, Avhic-h had defended the trophy on five previous occasions, after winning it from,Terrace End on November 2nd last.
The game proved a Avell-fought one, and Avas Avitnessed by a good attendance of interested specta-
tors. • The score card slioavs that Foxton led off Avith a couple on the first head, the visitors then getting a single, and Foxton also a single on the third. Radford then measured a four on the next end, which put them two points in the lead, to Avhich they added a single and a two consecutively, the figures being B—3 on the sixth head. Foxton then took a single, but Manawatu SAvelled theijr figures with a three and a one, making t'heir lead 12 to 4 on the ninth. Thomson then claimed the next three heads, bringing his score up to 10 Avith a tAvo, a 3 and a single. Radford added one on the thirteenth, but on the fourteenth Th'oimson dreAV even AAnth a brace. The holders, however, failed to get ahead of the challengers. .Radford next scored a fou(r, a tAvo and a single, putting him seven points ahead on the seventeenth head, folloAving which Foxton notched tAvo tAVOS. On the tAventietli and final ends despite 'Foxton’s ’best efforts to even the figures, the visitors scored tAvo singles, extending their margin to five points.
