PRESBYTERIAN SUNDAY SCHOOL.
The annual breaking-up social and prize-giving in connection with the Presbyterian Sunday school took place last evening." The teachers and parents provided a sit down tea for the scholars and a very happy and well satisfied company left the Sunday school hall to play games in the church grounds for an hour nr so. At 7.31) p.m. a children’s concert was held at which the following contributed items: —’Margaret Barron, Joan BaiTon, Bubbles Hopkins, Shirley Barron, Myrtle Hughes, Ula Thomson, R. Fabian, Lyndon Knewstub, lan Nicholas, George Hughes and others, 1 Miss Patterson being accompanist.
The prizes were then distributed, each of the infant and primary classes receiving a prize, the higher elasses, oiily where 50 per cent, of the pissible marks were obtained. Jlr. Nicholas thanked the parents and friends for their assistance in supplying so many good things for the tea and donations to the prize tund. Also the teachers for their hiyal help and work, and especially on occasions like the present, when so much, bad to be done for (lie success of the evening. On behalf c.[ the Girls’ ,Bible Class he presented Mrs. J. Ross with a. crvstall vase, a Christmas gift to express their appreciation of the love and affection in which she is held.
Mrs. RoSs replied thanking the girls in her class and trusted they would all meet to continue the class next year.
Tim singing of a hymn and the Benediction closed a. vow happy and enjoyable evening’.
