FOXTON HARBOUR BOARD.
\ MONTHLY .MEETING
The monthly meeting of the Foxton Harbour Board was held in Palmerston North yesterday, presided over by Air. J. Linklater ALP. (chairman). Also present were Messrs \V. E. -Barber, AI. E. Porreau, R. Edwards, A. J. Ivellow, C. Blenkborn and the secretary (Air. K. Rangihenea). Apologies for absence were received from Alessrs J. A. Nash,.-ALP., and R. Btryant. CORRESPONDENCE was read and dealt with as follows : From the secretary of the Horowhenua Electric Power Board, advising that the matter of another street lamp for Alanawatu Heads would receive early attention.: —Received. From the District Railway Engineer, drawing the Board’s attention to the need for repairs at the wharf. With the rise and fall of the tide, tilling under the railway line was being - washed away and (lie track was gradually subsiding. —lt was decided that the local committee inspect the filling and make a report. From l-lie Canterbury Shipping Company, protesting against any increase in pilotage charges and requested that, (lie >m.v. Foxton bp placed on the same footing as the s.s". Ilimatangi. —'The letter was received, it being explained that there were no differential charges.
