A Bluff (resident who is the possessor ,of a, very intelligent, dog has been in the habit for a considerable length of time of writing a- weekly epistle of local news on the Sunday 'afternoon, and, accompanied by his dog, posting the letter to a northern friend in the evening. He omitted this weekly custom on Sunday last as there was nothnig to write about (remarikfs the Southland News correspondent). As the evening wore on Rover betaine very fidgety and restless, and continually pawed at his master. Finally he went to the open bookcase and carefully abstracted a writing pad, which he laid at his master’s feet, at the same time gazing up in his face with almost human intelligence showing in his eyes. The story Y vouched for.
