HUTT BY-ELECTION.
H D. BENNETT RETIRES
Wanganui, November 25.
Mr. H. D. Bennett, Independent candidate in the Hutt by-election, who is on a week-end visit to Wanganui, announced to-day that he would not further prejudice the field agaiimt the.antisSocialist candidates and would therefore retire from the contest. 'Mr. Bennett’s retirement leaves three cont'estants field, Mr. H. F. Johnston, the Reform candidate; Mr. W. Nash, the Labour nominee; and Mr. J. Keirr, the United banner-earner.
