LATE T. P. O’CONNOR.
—*, AN IRISH GENTLEMAN,
A glowing tribute to the memory of the late T. P. O’Connor was paid at Auckland byWiseouutCrjaigavon, Prime Minister of Northern Ireland, who for many years sat with “T'.P.” in the House of Commons. Lord iCraigavon said: “I have known “T.P.,” as lie was familiarly called, for so many years that it seems almost impossible to realise that the political, journalistic, and Irish world will continue without Lis genial personality. “We were doughty opponents for some 15 years in the British House of /Commons, hut such was his inborn courtesy and urbanity that even during the most controversial period in my country’s history he invariably exhibited the highest qualities of a diplomatist and of a generous-hearted Irish gentleman.”
