The result of the meeting was exceedingly gratifying and lie felt sure no one had ever anticipated such a handsome result considering the Association had been in existence only three years. The result, had been due a large measure, to the excellent work of the executive on all occasions. They had worked in a wholehearted manner all through the year. The Association’s thanks was also due to the assistance rendered gratuitously at all times by the members of the Alannwatu Afotoir Cycle Club. Without their assistance the Association would find itself at a loss in some of its duties which they had carried out year by year.
Afr. 'D. Christie, in moving the adoption of the balance-sheet, endorsed the President’s remarks and jsnid the meeting had been a record in every way, due in his opinion, to the excellent weather conditions which had prevailed, to the appearance of Percy Coleman and to the excellent work carried out by the secretary (Mr. L, C. Couch) prior to and during the meeting. The fact that nothing of -importance was held in the district, on that day was also in the Association’s favour. Afr. Christie suggested that the Association should’ arrange for a handicap hoard for next meeting which he considered would be appreciated by the spectators. The balance-sheet was adopted and aecmiuls passed for. payment. DONATION TO RACING CLUB. Air. of the course. Afr. Jewell said he Idid not think the sports in any way 'harmed the track but he thought that with a new mower tin 1 Club would be able to keep their grounds in order without much difficulty. The Association was fully alive to the Racing Club’s generosity and some tangible expression of this was only proper. The question of placing the profits of last race meeting on fixed deposit was considered and it was finally decided to offer £IOO to the Fox ton Racing Club at 5 per cent.
