At a fully attended protest meeting of the South Canterbury branch of the Public Service Association the folloAving resolution was unanimously carried: “Jjjevipeniihers of the South Canterbury section of the Public Service Association view with disgust the action of the Go • vernment in failing to consider the interests of public servants' in the matter "of salary, adjustments on the -score of economy while at the same time voting an eleventh-hour appropriation of £.IOO to each member of Parliament.” Wellington,' November 9. The executive . council of the Amalgamated Society of 'Railway Servants has passed "the following resolution : “This executive council, iioav iii session, expresses its keen resentment of Parliamentarians in the long overdue adjustments and advances in pay, especially- to the basic wagA earners -in the railway . service,.:.whilst during the same week-in the dying hours of the session increasing their own.remuneration by a sub-, stantiai amount. Further, A\’e claim that the same reasons put forward for withholding the restoration of the wages cuts apply with equal force to members of Parliament.’’:
