FOXTON RETAINS MAX SOX
AND BARR CUP
On Saturday afternoon Foxton met,'and defeated a challenging rink from Levin in a match for the Ala ns on and Barr Clip. Levin lead off with a two on the first head, after which they failed to score again until the eighth head, by which time the score stood B—38 —3 in favour of Foxton. On the ninth head the visitors notched another single, and’ a two on the eleventh head which put the scores 9 —6 still in favour of Foxton. The holders then increased their margin bv ones and twos to reach a. total of 15 on the fifteenth head before their opponents gained further points, which practically decided the game, the final figures being Foxton 22 Levin 13. The following are the teams: —
Foxton: Warwick, AYaJker, Nye, Thomson (s) 22; Levin: Walker, Pylee, G. Brown, Monks (s) 13. The next match for the Manson and Bain* -Clip will probably be played on Saturday, when a Shannon rink will try conclusions with. Thompson’s rink.
FLETCHER SHIELD MA TCH TO-MORROW. To-morrow' afternoon Foxton Club will pay a visit to Palmerston North Club to try conclusions for the Fletcher Shield. The .follow-ing-finks will make the'journey: — Hinds, Easton, .T. Newtli, Cliß'istie (s). Pailkin, Ilaiiier, Walker, Woods (s). Robinson, Walton, Huntley, Mattar (s). . J. Reay, John Ross, Ileyes, Thomson (s). , Hart's char-a-bano will leave the green at 1 o’clock sharp.
