Burton, Divisional Commander for the Salvation Army in Canterbury and Westland," when referring to the telegram from Wellington stating that the Defence Department had almost completed arrangements, for alternative service by those oh: jetting to military training on conscientious grounds. “There is nothing in our organisation to meet the needs of the case and I -consider the telegram to he, a. make-up,” said the Brigadier. >
