PUNT SINKS IN TEN FEET OF

Dunedin, October. 28.

Arthur Algie, 'aged'l2 and' Douglas Hayward, also aged- 12, two members of a ipartv of four who went fishing in a lagoon at 'Stifling on Saturday afternoon, were drowned when a leaky flat-bottomed punt sank in 10 feet of water. Stephen Algie (15) and Archie Hanly (12) were thrown clear of the punt. Stephen Algie was the only swimmer and lie got Hanly ashore. Hayward’s body was recovered but efforts at resuscitation were of no avail. A, verdict of accidental drowning was returned at the inquest.
