AREA RIFLE MEETING
LOCAL COMPETITOR'S SUCCESS. The result of the C. and D. series in the area rifle meeting held recently in Palmerston North show that the local Cadets competed with a fair measure of success. Prize winners were as follows: — No. 1 match; Cadets M. Baird and A. Murphy 2/0 each. No. 2 match: Cadet F. Cowley 10/-; Cadets M. Baird and A. Murphy 5/- each. No. 3 match: Cadet A. Murphy v-. No. 4 match: Cadet A. Murphy 2/6. Cadet A. Murphy was second in the area championship match, (C. and D. series, .22 ammunition) for the Toxward Cup and gold medal, receiving a silver medal. In the country match, Cadets J. Cummerfield, F. Cowley and D. Oirystall each received 2/6.
