ROADMAN MEETS INSTANT

DEATH.

Hawera, Last Night. Richard Morris, an employee of tho Hawera County ‘'Council, was killed instantly this morning- as the result of being run over by a steam roller while working- on the road near Okaiawa.

Morris was assisting with the operation of 'the roller and was walking- beside on of the rear wheels, when apparently he stumbled and fell beneath the wheel, which passed over his neck and the upper part of his body. Morris who was abed about 48 years, leaves a widow and six children.
