S.M. COURT
MONTHLY SITTING.
The usual monthly sitting of the local S.M. Court was held this morning before Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M.
Ronald Ross, of Wellington, charged with negligently driving a mot oh car in Main Street on September 29th in a. manner dangerous to the public was convicted and lined £2 with costs 10/-. R, Kennedy, W. Walker and E. Francis charged with riding bicycles in the borough after dark without lights were each lined 5/- with costs 10/-. Or. Woods similarly charged but who appeared voluntarily was similarly fined, costs being 3/-.
C. Vickers for riding a bicycle on tile footpath in Union Street, was lined 5/- with costs 10/-. G. Walibutton charged with riding a motor bike in the borough without a. silencer, the first case of its kind to be heard locally, was lined £2 with costs 10/-. W. Walibutton was fined 10/witJi costs 10/- for putting a horse out on to the road to graze. R, Matthews charged with grazing stock on the Hiinatangi highway, Was fined 10/- with costs 15/-.
CIVIL CASE'S. Judgment for plaintiff was given in the following undefended civil cases: — P. iO. Lenihan v. W. Aldridge jnr. £l3 13/-, costs £2 16/-; A. G. Coug h trey v. Hori G eorge £33 9/10, costs £4 10/6. J UDGMENT SUMMONSES. W. E. Coley was ordered to pay Dr. E. M. Wyllie £6 15/- forthwith, in default four days’ imprisonment.
Paid Haiidoue was ordered to pay Nurse E. M. Collins £2 1/forthwith, in default 3 days’ imprisonment. W. Aldridge was ordered to pay S. H. Bevan and Co., £5 15/3 forthwith, in default seven days.
Change of venue was granted in the case Carl Petersen v. F. Douglas, the evidence to be heard at Pukekohe.
