THE exhaustive eoronial inquiry into the Himatangi holocaust has failed to reveal either cause or .motive for one of the most tragic happenings yet. reholrded in the Dominion. The secret rests with the ashes. Supposition and theoric. there are in plenty, hut they on! no iee. The police officials are to he commended for the exhaustive inquiries made. Indeed, it may lie Tritely said that they combed every possible avenue to find a clue which might throw light on the tragedy without success. The medical testimony, thorough though it was,, revealed little beyond identification of'the eight victims and the other evidence dealing with the domestic 1 affairs of the victims was not sufficiently conclusive to indicate a definite motive for the eommital of a serous crime. The coroner’s 'finding could he none other than that eight victims perished in the flames which destroyed the dwelling.
