MONTHLY [MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Poxtori Borough Council was held last flight. Reports were read and dealt with as follows: ROID FOREMAN’S REPORT.' 'The .road foreman (Mr. G. A. The staff was now engaged in patching breaks in the surface of Main Street. Asphalt lias been mixed for Harbour Street footpath and the road op- , pnsito the Town Hall, and as soon ias matured work will be put in hand. Other work to be eax'ried out during the month will be repairing br.caks in the bitumen in Union St., , and top-dressing Whyte Street. — Adopted. ' WATERiWOEK’S REPORT. Tlie waterworks foreman (Mr. W. Neville) reported that during August one of the pound yards was dismantled and two other yards repaired; three water meters were installed, two house drains cleaned , and one water service installed. Fire indicators, the silent po- , licemen and the morgue were paint- . ed and lupins grubbed.—Adopted. Pumping Station Report.—During the 'month 1,450,000. gallons of water was pumped, the maximum current used being 32 amps.— Adopted. GAS MANAGER’S REPORT. The ga’s manager . (Mr. W. S. Heyes) reported that the plant was .operating satisfactorily and during , the month the pipes were overhauled. Three services, and two house connections, were attended ,to and one new service put in.— Adopted.
