Jenkinson, of Hamilton, under the will of the late W. B. Carmichael, of Sydney. A well-known newsprint merchant, Carmichael 14 years ago, met a little girl of three years when she was visiting her grandmother in Auckland. He took a great liking 'to the child and whenever he visited New Zealand showed an affectionate interest in her welfare. For years, the old gentleman and the little girl exchanged letters and photographs and when lie died recently he left her £IOOO on the condition that the money should be held in trust- until the beneficiary becomes 21 years of age.
