Friday’s sitting, which lasted from 10.30 a.m. on F|riday until 3.5 a.m. on Saturday, was the longest of the session.
Two 'Bills were introduced and read a first time on Tuesday. The first was the Transport Laws Amendment Bill, which seeks to transfer the. control of transport from the Minister of Public Works to the Minister of Transport, to alter the constitution of the Highways Board to ensure greater South Island representation, and amend in numerous directions the existing laws -affecting mo tor-cat's, motor-buses, and other motor ve'liicles. The second measure proposes to provide rest homes for destitute persons.
